Meet Success4Kids

Jerry grew up in Phoenix, and attended West Phoenix High School where he started playing handball on outdoor courts made of wooden walls using tennis balls and bare hands. It didn’t take long for Jerry’s game to evolve into the game of handball played on the indoor 4-wall courts at the downtown YMCA with black authentic handballs. It was through the game of handball that Jerry and Ken Dannenbaum met. They shared the vision of promoting youth handball and in 2002, they founded the non-profit organization, Success4Kids. Since then, S4K has helped introduce handball to hundreds of high school players throughout the greater Phoenix valley. Jerry is now a retired CPA and although retired from playing handball he still continues to promote youth handball through Success4Kids.

Mr. Stewart has played handball for over 50 years, playing in over 750 local, regional and national tournaments. He is a certified USHA coach and has taught handball at several schools and venues in Colorado and Arizona. Most recently he was an assistant coach at Arizona State University for 3 years. He assisted in the running of the Collegiate Championships at ASU in 2017, providing dozens of large signs and prints of the players during the 5 day event. He currently organizes handball tournaments in the Phoenix area to include junior events.
As a board member of success for kids, one of his main goals is student matriculation and having the opportunity the young men and women exposure to careers that do not require a college degree, i.e. aviation mechanic, automotive/diesel mechanic, electrical, plumbing, and construction discipline and management.
